I like the federal .38 fmj in mine. the recoil isn't bad at all, and the shoot pretty well. WebAug 16, 2013 · 239 Posts. #6 · Jul 13, 2013. If you shoot a LOT of 38, the shorter cartridge will build-up carbon in the ends of the charging holes. When using 357, the slightly longer cartridge will JAM due to the extra crud at the end. I HAD THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH A USED 605 LAST YEAR!!!
